May 22, 2015

We are happy to report there are 30 potato plants growing!  Some of the marigolds are blooming, too.  The past two weeks were cold and rainy with a few sunny spring-like days.

Plans for Our Fall Harvest

We planted 10 pounds of seed potatoes.  How many pounds of potatoes will we harvest?  Let’s hope we have bumper crop!  Every potato our third graders harvest in the fall will go to the Johnson County Crisis Center and help fill food baskets for hungry families.

Lincoln Lions CARE!

Flower Planting at Lincoln: An annual tradition

We are helping Keep Iowa Beautiful with our annual Flower Planting Day.  Each student plants at least one flower on our school grounds.  When we return to school in August, we are greeted with beautiful blooms!  We couldn’t do this without the help of our Lincoln parents who volunteer their time and talent.  Thanks to our Lincoln PTO for purchasing trays of flowers for us!
